Drunk arrested for squeezing woman’s face

Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona imposed a $5,000 cash bail on Silvano Corpuz Jacinto who is being held on charges of disturbing the peace, assault, assault and battery, and criminal mischief.

Jacinto appeared in the custody of the Department of Corrections during the court hearing on Friday.

Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Dockter represented the government while Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller was appointed as Jacinto’s counsel.

In his affidavit, Detective Peter A. Aldan said the victim arrived home in Garapan after doing laundry at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police did not disclose Jacinto’s  relationship with the victim, but stated that the defendant arrived at the house after a drinking session with his friends.

Still outside the residence, Jacinto started to cuss at the victim after giving him a t-shirt he requested, the affidavit stated.

It added that the victim locked the front door after Jacinto threatened to hit her.

According to the affidavit, Jacinto entered the house by breaking half of the door and grabbed the victim who tried to escape through the same door.

Jacinto “squeezed her face with his hands and told her he’s going to burn the house and then kill her,” Aldan said.

The victim managed to escape. She entered a neighbor’s house and asked for police assistance.

Police arrested Jacinto while he was asking the victim to step out of their neighbor’s house.
