The new water service hours are necessary to allow the contractor to complete the waterproofing of the Capital Hill million gallon concrete storage tank.
The work is scheduled to begin today, May 10, and anticipated to be completed on Aug. 10.
The sealant will protect the concrete tank as well as prevent contamination of the water supply.
Residents in these areas are advised to expect shorter water hours during this construction period.
CUC and the water task force apologize for the inconvenience caused by this important work.
The following is the anticipated water hours schedule for the affected areas:
• Capital Hill 1200-1300 Block/Homestead/Tapochau/Chalan Galaide – 6 a.m. to 12 noon (tentative water hours)
• 1300 Block/Wireless Ridge/Talafofo/I Denni – 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. (tentative water hours)
Residents are encouraged to practice strict water conservation and to teach children and household workers to save water especially during this period.
Rainwater catchment systems/water tanks should be cleaned and float valves installed or replaced to ensure that water does not overflow from any tanks.
Strict separation of such systems from the main supply must be ensured.
