Letter to the Editor: Forgiving heart

If we can just create peaceful moments each day, we could improve ourselves instead of trying to outsmart and outperform one another.

We can be better persons if we can make our enemies our closest friends.

A change in heart is not a bad start. But self-discipline and an unconditional commitment to serve people are something worth putting into practice consistently.

Let us forget our leaders’ vested interests, and pray for their guidance.

Let us stop blaming each other for the political and social problems we are faced with.

Instead, let us promote peaceful encounters to avoid more conflicts in public policy making.

We can work better collectively.

And more significantly, we need to more seriously consider self-respect and forget all lustful thoughts.

I don’t think that if you’re trying to be an upright person you want others to lose the respect and trust they have for you.

So let us all bring peace in our hearts so that our efforts to make this a peaceful community will be successful.

A prosperous New Year to all!
