Severino U. Alforeza Jr., through his lawyer Joe Hill, has filed a notice of filing of an amended complaint that included Daewoo Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. and John Does, previously referred to as Doe 1 in the initial complaint as party defendants.
Hill said the identities of these additional or recently named parties, or their participation in the act complained of, “were unavailable or unknown to plaintiff previously, but were made available to plaintiff in defendant [Saipan Laulau Development Inc. which is doing business as Laolao Bay Golf Resort’s] most recent discovery responses.”
Alforeza is asking for general, compensatory and special damages to be proven at trial.
Alforeza said he was hit by a golf ball in the chest on July 18, 2009, while he was in the process of lowering heavy metal rebar to fellow workers reaching up for them from the bottom of the 20-ft. deep sewage facility excavation hole inside the golf course.
Alforeza said he later underwent surgery “to correct the inguinal hernia.”
