Guests include noted author, story-teller and cultural preservationist Lino Olopai and Jung Ae Lee, an extremely talented local oil and silk painter.
Olopai authored “The Rope of Tradition: Reflections of a Saipan Carolinian.”
The autobiographical account of Olopai’s life included recollections of his early childhood in immediate post-war Saipan, his efforts to discover his Carolinian cultural roots, his involvement in the political status negotiations of the 1970s and his ongoing efforts to seek balance between cultural traditions and the demands of the modern world.
Lee’s silk paintings demand between two weeks and two months to complete each original work
