PNG government hires Falcon jet

O’Neill confirmed that the controversial jet was owned by Air Niugini and not by the government anymore.

“We hire the jet to use and Air Niugini sends us the bill every month like any other commercial arrangement. We are not using it free of charge,” O’Neill said.

Critics of the government have voiced dissatisfaction that he had been critical of the purchase of the jet but was heavily using the jet since it came into office.

O’Neill said the Falcon jet was owned by Air Niugini and apart from the government, there were other corporate citizens that were also hiring the plane for their use.
