Letter to the Editor: Don’t delay PUC

In the order, the Hearing Examiner clearly stated: “Further delay in the issuance of GTA’s certificate, which is intended to foster competition, would be unfair and counterproductive to this policy goal.”

Therefore, I strongly urge that the PUC signed the Hearing Examiner’s already prepared “Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity” without delay.  The residents of the commonwealth deserve more competitive telecommunication facilities, so that no company in the CNMI can monopolize the pricing and services provided.

GTA’s success on Guam can now be extended to the entire Commonwealth, and the Saipan-Rota-Tinian winners will be plenty.  Don’t delay PUC.
