The meeting last night was a bit different from the previous evening which was held with all members of the FSM community. Mori, who is from Chuuk, was speaking to his constituents in their native language.
Julio Suda, of Sinajana, is one of the representatives for the Chuukese community who attended the meeting at the Dededo Senior Center.
He said the discussion was based on the problems of the Compacts of Free Association with the United States, and a request that the community work with the mayors of their respective villages.
Suda noted there was excitement among the group attending Thursday night because it was a chance to see their president in person.
“He wants to let the whole community of Chuuk contribute to the residents and the government of Guam,” said Suda.
“He wants them to obey the Guam law, the Guam culture and make themselves available and be involved in all village activities. He wants them to understand why they are here. Part of it includes good relations in the village they live in,” he added.
