Continental makes 5th emergency landing

Continental flight 001 from Honolulu to Guam landed without incident on the runway at 6:57 p.m. and was towed by Continental ground crew to the gate.

On Sept. 2, outbound flight 197 was headed for Nagoya, Japan but returned to Guam after discovering problems with its electronic equipment.

On Sept. 11, inbound flight 197 made an emergency landing at the airport, coming from Fiji.

On Sept. 13, airport safety officials stood by for an emergency landing by flight 166 from Fukuoka, Japan.

On Sept. 22, inbound flight 117 from Cairns, Australia made an emergency landing after experiencing air speed and altitude equipment failure.

All flights landed safely.
