No job, no parole

According to Sebrechts, “Foreign workers are eligible for an extension of parole only if they already have parole and if their employer is petitioning for an employment-based nonimmigrant or CW status for them.”

Sebrechts  said CNMI permanent residents and their immediate relatives and the immediate relatives of FAS nationals are eligible to apply for parole.

“No one should provide false hope that parole is an answer to a foreign worker’s immigration situation if he or she is not eligible. They should instead concentrate on making real plans for the future, either through employment in the CNMI or elsewhere,” Sebrechts added.
