Robert Jake Palacios arrested for stalking, violating order of protection

Judge David A. Wiseman imposed a $25,000 bail on Palacios who is being held on charges of stalking in the first and second degree, disturbing the peace, assault, and violating an order for protection.

Assistant Public Defender Benjamin Petersburg represented Palacios who was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after yesterday’s hearing.

Detective Peter A. Aldan said the crimes  were committed through phone calls and text messages that the victim received from the defendant using different phone numbers.

The incidents occurred at the victim’s residence in Dandan, the victim’s place of employment, and “at random times during the daily life of the victim,” Aldan said.

The incidents occurred on April 10, 2011, July 14, 2011, Aug. 30 and 31, 2011, and on Sept. 1, 2011

Palacios threatened to kill the victim in a text message sent to her, police said,

Palacios also threatened he would break the face of whoever was dating the victim, police said.

Palacios told the victim he would never be caught nor found, if ever she would report to police.

According to police, Palacios said he would hunt the victim as soon as he got out of prison.

Palacios  voted to cut the victim’s neck before police could arrest him.

The victim hurriedly left her place of employment on Aug. 31, 2011. She received text message from her co-workers that Palacios was seen walking around and out of her workplace.

Another co-worker texted the victim on Sept. 1, 2011 after Palacios was seen walking around the victim’s workplace.
