The downpour comes as officials in Tokelau ended a state of emergency in the three atolls because of weekend rainfall.
But the ongoing crisis is not resolved.
Tataua Pefe from Tuvalu’s Red Cross told Pacific Beat Tuvalu that despite the rain, water shortages were expected soon.
“We’ve been trying to work together with the government to get a longer term solution because we just didn’t have enough drinking water,” he said.
