No livestreaming at Ring of Fire 3, says promoter

TRENCH Tech promoter Cuki Alvarez said there will be no live streaming at Ring of Fire 3, which is set for Saturday, May 24, at the Garapan Roundhouse.

Alvarez said Trench Tech reserves the right to enforce the ban on unauthorized live streaming, even if it means removing customers from the venue.

He calls unauthorized livestreaming “unfair.”

“Live streaming does an injustice to all the hard work and preparation it takes to put the whole event together,” he said. “It takes away the support we most need, and that is to sell tickets to the fight fans. It’s also a takeaway from all the fighters who have been training for months to perform in front of a sold-out crowd. The screaming fans and awesome crowd that’s in attendance make the event what it’s supposed to be. When people live stream, it’s unfair for all those who paid for their tickets, and it’s a ‘cheat’ way to watch the fights.”

He said attending fight night in person shows support for the fighters.

“It takes months of planning and promoting and advertising so in return, we hope that fans do their honest part in supporting the fighters and the event by purchasing their tickets. Fighters love nothing more than the thrill of hundreds of cheering fans in attendance calling their names. So we appreciate it very much if they respect that,” Alvarez said.

Tickets to Ring of Fire 3 are available at Boarderline, 4Ever CNMI, and the Trench Tech Gym.  Tickets cost $25 before the fight, and $30 at the door.

Ring of Fire 3 will feature 16 bouts of kickboxing and boxing, with fighters from Guam, Saipan, and the Federated States of Micronesia. Doors open at 4 p.m., with fights kicking off at 5 p.m.
