A ‘Last Minute’ win at Hyatt Golf Classic

Saures was part of team Last Minute’s four-man group, which topped the 16th Annual Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic.

Saures joined Wil Maui, Eun Teack Jung, and Jaeyon Ju to score a 63.6 net for first place.

“It was good and fun. We played our best,” he told Variety in a phone interview yesterday.

“We weren’t expecting to win. We called our team ‘Last Minute’ because we just formed our group on the spot.”

Saures and Maui was matched with the Jung-Ju duo on Saturday before making their winning run at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort’s West Course.

Trailing Last Minute were Jack Salas, JJ Atalig, Ned Norita, and Joey Dela Cruz, who posted a 64 net for second place.

Ranking third was the all-female squad of Lorraine Babauta, Terry Guerrero, Shiori Onuoue, and Sherlyn Jones, who had a 65.2 net.

While over $70,000 worth of hole-in-one prizes were available, the champions received a one night accommodation in Hyatt’s Regency Club Room and Sunday Brunch at Giovanni’s for two.

The first runners-up won one night accommodation in a Deluxe Room and dinner at Kili Café and Terrace for two. Prizes for second-runner up included a 60-minute Swedish Massage at i Sagua Spa and lunch buffet at Miyako for two.

Proceeds from the tournament benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation, among other non-profit organizations.
