Konstrak lands easy win over 8 Division, 103-93

Eljin Mangali led Konstrak Builder with 27 points to bury 8 Division, 103-93 in the Domino Lux Invitational Basketball League at the Gualo Rai court.

Estolas had earlier shot a triple and surged with nine points to hand Konstrak the lead in the first quarter. Mangali however, carried the pace as he and Jawn Joyner scored eight and seven, respectively to pummel 8 Division 10 minutes later.

If that wasn’t enough, Jerome Reyes blasted back-to-back field goals to score 11 of Konstrak’s 26 points in the third quarter.

8 Division — behind, 76-65 — crawled behind and fought their way through but it was too late. Even JR Ngeskebei’s late game shooting spree couldn’t make up for their 15-point deficit. Both he and Leo Factor drove the team’s offense on 32 and 24 points.

Estolas, who shot two baskets in the second half, was forced to sit out in the last seven minutes after falling from a drive attempt.

Ngeskebei saw his chance and forced two turnovers on steals while sliding a reverse layup between Reyes and Victor Mallari.

Though trimming the score to a 10-point gap, Ngeskebei was still outnumbered by Mallari and Mangali in the defense.

Joyner totaled 13 points, Mallari scored 17, and Reyes earned 18.

8 Division’s Cris Lansang and Mattheo Duenas were only allowed nine each while Rick Alejandro scored eight.
