Mellow strikes 1st win vs. Thundercats

Despite losing to Docomo last Tuesday, the Mellow Yellows bagged their much needed win thanks to Ho Jin Woo, who scored all four points.

Lin Zhi Peng led the Thundercats with two goals in the first half.

The win officially ends Mellow Yellow’s losing streak, which started with a 5-3 loss versus Wild Bill’s last week Monday.

In the women’s division, the Shirley’s A Team continued their dominance with back-to-back victories over IT&E Team Blossom and the Thai Team.

Team IT&E slipped and fell, 8-0 last Wednesday with two goals apiece from Jeraldine Castillo, Melody Johnson, and Charlene Lizardo. The trio lifted Shirley’s, 5-0 in the first half as Marilou Gariguez and Dianne Pablo notched one goal each in the second.

The Shirley’s A Team clobbered the Thai Team, 4-0 on Tuesday, handing them their third loss. Again, Castillo led the first half with two goals, with additional points from Johnson and Irish Pagarao.

With the aid of Catherine Perry however, the Thai Team eked out a 1-0 victory versus the Red Team on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, team Docomo edged the IT&E Men, 6-3. Docomo’s Ropati Tonuu scored two goals while Peter Loken and Trey Dunn posted one apiece in the first half. IT&E’s Kirk Schuler and Jin Han Yoon however, fired back with a three-point combo. Loken squeezed in two more goals to silence IT&E.

The undefeated Korean Futsal Team still reigns in the men’s division at four wins, following an 8-6 win over Wild Bill’s last Monday. Gil Chong Koo took the spotlight with three goals in each half. Sang Ho Choi and Dae Min Jeon tallied one goal each.

Last week Wednesday, the KFT defeated IT&E, 7-0.
