There are now six flights per week from China to Saipan. two flights on Monday and Friday departs from Guangzhou and four flights on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday departs from Shanghai. All flights arrive Saipan the following morning.
By adding these two weekly flights, Chairman Michael Kwan expressed his confidence in the development of China tourism market to CNMI and the popularity of CNMI as a destination. To see the two weekly additional flights became a reality.
Kwan said that “He is very gratified that the tireless efforts and determination to overturn other Chinese airline’s objections, the long approval process with USDOT, FAA & TSA and the allocation of landing & take off slots at both Shanghai and Guangzhou Airport all came into fruition. I am very confident that through my continued efforts to bring more Chinese visitors to CNMI, the economy will recover soon”. He also extends his appreciation to Sichuan Airline for their support and partnership in making the flights to Saipan available for Chinese tourists to visit CNMI.
To increase it’s promotional efforts in China, Tinian Dynasty Travel opened its 9th Sales & Marketing office in Xian City (population 7.4 million) in Shaanxi Province (population 37.6 million). Other offices are in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Foshan, Dalian, Chengdu, Wuhan and Shenzhen. On October 25, together with Sichaun Airline. The office hosted a educational seminar to 412 travel agents and media to showcase the beauty and scenery of Saipan, Tinian and Rota have to offer as a tropical destination. The presentation was well received by everyone in attendance. Yu Ya Jun, vice chairman of Xian Tourism Administration gave his personal endorsement to promote CNMI as an ideal destination for Chinese tourists. The education seminar received wide coverage in Xian’s newspaper and on television.
The two weekly flights will bring additional 25,000 visitors per year for an annual total of more than 75,000 visitors from China. With their average spending of $1,500 per person. They will generate more than $100 million into the economy. This surely will increase revenue for the government and provide additional job opportunities and thus revive Saipan’s economy in the short term.
