Many, if not all, of her students leave her classroom being able to read and fully equipped for the next grade level. The atmosphere in her classroom is very inviting and comfortable. She is one of those unforgettable teachers that students continue to hug and greet even when they are already in middle school.
Other than her effectiveness as a teacher, Mrs. Lee is also acknowledged for her leadership skills. She knows the importance of making a difference for students in and out of the classroom. Mrs. Lee noticed a lack of funding for many school necessities, so she took it upon herself to spearhead the Box tops and Campbell’s fundraiser. This fundraiser has been very effective for the past three years, and many sports and school supplies have been purchased for our students.
Mrs. Lee is also very active in providing help in coordinating school events such as the parade of books competition and the annual school book fair. In addition to that, Mrs. Lee is also a dynamic member of our accreditation team. She is the chairperson for the Resource and Management Focus Group and has shown great leadership amongst her group members.
Despite the many responsibilities that are thrown on her plate, Mrs. Lee still continues to do her duties as a mother and wife to her family. She is able to prioritize her family and juggle all the other hats that she wears at work.
Koblerville Elementary School is truly fortunate to have such a dedicated teacher on board. Thank you Mrs. Lee for all that you do for our students. Your hard work is always recognized and appreciated.
Umang Teacher Aide of the Year
Koblerville Elementary School is so lucky to have one of the most flexible teacher aides in PSS, Mr. George Cruz. After serving in the military, Mr. Cruz joined the CNMI Public School System as a troops to teach teacher aide in 2007, and has been with the Umang Family since. Mr. Cruz has touched many students’ lives in the general education classrooms during his troops to teach years. In SY 2010-2011, he was assigned to the special education department, where his help was needed the most. In this department, Mr. Cruz had first had experience on how important and beneficial it is for the students to have aides serving them at school.
In the summer of 2010, Mr. Cruz was assigned to attend a professional development on RediKer. After showing significant understanding of the RediKer program, Mrs. Cruz has become even more demanding not only for KoES, but for the CNMI Public School System. He trains teachers and administrators throughout the schools in the CNMI on RediKer. He also troubleshoots the problems many schools have with the program. Mr. Cruz has shown great responsibility with the many extra duties asked of him. He goes beyond the job description of a teacher aide without any complaints.
In addition to his responsibilities at work, Mr. Cruz still sees the importance of an education. He is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Education at NMC. He is scheduled to complete his degree in about year and plans on becoming a classroom teacher.
Thank you Mr. George Cruz for your hard work and patience! We appreciate all that you have done for us!
Umang Support Staff of the Year
For two straight years in a row, KoES has confidently nominated Marijane Villagomez as the Support Staff of the Year! Mrs. Villagomez wears many hats in the school. She is the librarian, Tanita Test Administrator, Substitute Teacher and Office Administrative Assistant.
Mrs. Villagomez always has a smile on her face and many students are not afraid to approach her. KoES students are always so excited to go to the library and borrow books because of the inviting atmosphere Mrs. Villagomez creates in the school library.
In addition to her responsibilities as a librarian, Mrs. Marijane Villagomez also helps out with the staff timesheets and school registration. She tends to many parents in the office by helping them with filling out many different forms, such a free meal applications and registration forms.
The Umangs are truly grateful for Mrs. Villagomez, which is why she was nominated two years in a row. Thank you Mrs. Marijane for your hard work and dedication!
