Linlin Song has denied the charges of two counts of immigration document fraud.
Linlin Song has been in jail after her arrest last month.
Linlin Song was indicted after she filled out a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Form I-485 to apply for adjustment of status, or register permanent residence. Her Form G-325A indicated that she was married and her current husband is Steven Romie. She was in fact divorced from Romie already.
Linlin Song was living with a different man, the indictment stated.
Romie was also indicted on one count of immigration document fraud, which he denied.
In his submitted USCIS Form I-130 which is a petition for alien relative, and Form G-325A, Romie stated the he was married to Linlin Song.
Stephen Woodruff has been appointed to represent Linlin Song. following the withdrawal of the previous defense counsel.
Over 400 pages of discovery documents have been forwarded to the defense.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Beverly McCallum is prosecuting the case.
Romie is currently serving time for a sexual abuse case.
