Heavyweight Mylo Lassiter and Fasi Jesse gave in to professional fighters from the Korean Top Team while Tinian-based Keli “Rukiz” Manglona fell to Guam’s very own Ryan “Biggs” Bigler.
Manglona — who flew to Korea for an MMA bout and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament last September and October — notched his very first loss, ending a six-win streak since Gorilla Warfare 3: Confrontation in 2009.
The Trench Tech and Tinian Zeng Zung fighter survived the first minute against the crowd-favored Bigler before resorting to the ground. Seconds later, Bigler slipped in a rear-naked choke.
Manglona attempted to roll over and escape, but this gave Bigler time to sink in and tap him out in the first round.
Lassiter lasted the longest among the three, losing in the second round to Korean Top Team’s Doo Hwan Kim via rear-naked choke. The 6’11”, 240-lb. heavyweight last won in Trench Tech’s Rites of Passsage 11: “Onra” last September versus Myron San Nicolas.
Meanwhile, Jesse’s two-win streak also came to an end when he lost to KTT’s Jang Yong Kim in the first round via arm bar submission.
Now holding eight wins with four losses, Jesse last defeated Guam’s Tyrone Jones by unanimous decision in Trench Warz 14: “Ground Zero.”
In other pro-bouts, The Ultimate Fighter contestant JJ Ambrose defeated Sebastien Garguier by unanimous decision. Ambrose last won two bouts in Saipan during ROP 11 and Trench Warz 13 last year.
Two championship titles were also at stake in PXC 27, with Justin Cruz retaining his 135-lb. title versus Trevin Jones. Joe Taimanglo claimed the 145-lb. title from Harris Sarmiento.
