Making tamales, mendioka and rosku

Also amot makpung is available as well as some medicinal plants.

All interested Chamorros and Carolinians are encouraged to attend.

The making of the tamales, rosku and gutyuria will start at 9 a.m. A few traditional healers will be at the center with some of their medicines from 9 to 12 noon.

This Saturday’s activities at the Rota Chamorro Village Cultural Center in the DCCA office compound will be making the motsiyas food,and making aliling tulompu bracelet and pendant, coconut shell earings, making fly trap, and storytelling. Activities on Rota start at 10:30 a.m. Children and adults are invited.

These activities are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office on Saipan and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs office on Rota and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans.
