From tip-off, the game was a run-and-gun affair as both teams wanted to grab that first win of the season.
Konflikt struck first with an easy fastbreak layup by Ivan De Vero, a jumper from Brandon Talania, and a quick three from Elmer Esdrelon, but Satbahi quickly countered with a string of shots from Eljin Mangali and Darwin Barbo.
Both teams were neck and neck as they ended the first quarter tied, 17-17.
Satbahi’s Rolly Baraiso opened the second quarter with 8 straight points, complemented by a three from Marlon Sison and a pair of jumpers from Mike Eclevia, but Konflikt went on a run on their own eventually tying the game, 33-33, with 2:36 left in the quarter.
After Satbahi called a timeout, they started to pull away from the defending champions and went into halftime with a 42-35 lead.
Konflikt started the third quarter nicely with a string of well-placed passes from their prolific point guard Esdrelon, but Satbahi widened the gap due to miscues in the Konflikt defense.
Satbahi eventually got the lead to double digits by scoring on Konflikt turnovers via their halfcourt traps and zone defense schemes.
They didn’t look back and closed the fourth quarter strongly.
Konflikt’s Shawn Joyner scored a game-high 18 points and crashed the boards for 7 rebounds.
Darwin Barbo led the way for Satbahi posting a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Konflikt outrebounded Satbahi 45-43, but their turnovers cost them the win.
