Demapan, Tan lead MPU to shutout win

Mei Demapan drilled MPU’s first goal 19 minutes into the first half, while Lydia Tan landed their second point five minutes into the second half last Wednesday.

MHS’ Allene Evallar, Jonavelle Cuedo, and Jaime Borja rallied back and forth despite losing the ball on several plays.

MPU’s larger and faster strikers controlled the court and held on long enough to keep MHS from the net.

Borja’s teammate Asia Liwag sprinted for a goal after halftime but collided with Kathy Ruszala, who secured the ball.

MPU drew Wednesday night’s first victory after a 3-3 draw between Independent Football Club and Tan Holdings FC-B.

On Monday, Charlene Lizardo and Aniana Maica led Shirley’s FC-B to a close 2-1 win against Paire FC-B.

Manami Tadokoro scored four of Matansa FC-B’s goals to outrun MPU-B1, 6-2.

MHS also lost to Tan Holdings FC-B, 4-0.

Last Friday, MHS-B came on the winning end and edged Independent FC-B, 4-2 while Shirley’s FC-A crushed PFC-A, 8-0.

Team MPU-B2 joined the winner’s circle when Laarni Pagarao scored both their goals to beat Tan Holdings FC-B, 2-1.
