Just recently, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced the awarding a $305,000 grant to continue the Pacific Lineman Training program in this region, which includes training for YSPSC linemen.
The bucket truck could not have arrived at a better time as this segment of the training will be dealing in working with hotline or energized power lines.
The training program was denied to some sister utility companies in the region due to lack of adequate equipment such as the bucket truck.
YSPSC is grateful for receiving the bucket truck.
This addition to the YSPSC’s existing fleet of equipments will allow the power distribution crew to work more efficiently and safely.
YSPSC said it would like to thank the U.S. Department of Agriculture for all its support and assistance in granting $100,000 to make it possible for the utility to procure such needed equipment.
