Nonresidents seeking improved immigration status or at least a parole in place have been camping at the site since Oct. 24, 2011.
With raised arms and lighted candles, they sang “Carry Your Candle” which was followed by a moment of silence. Men, women, and children were seen and heard sobbing as they prayed for those among them who are jobless and are facing deportation after Nov. 27, 2011 when their umbrella permits expire.
They will hold three more events before that date.
