As the chairperson of Criterion A, Student Organizations, she displayed a strong and effective leadership role that made our Lu’ao team diligently work as a productive team, and as a result we were granted a six-year term of accreditation with a one day midterm review.
Mrs. Anna Lee Mendiola is highly respected by her co-workers for her willingness to help anyone whenever she can. She has been instrumental in helping to gather and share information on how to reach individual students with difficulties using Pacific-Child and differentiated instruction. She is very well organized, diligent in her teaching work duties, easily reachable, and accommodating.
Mrs. Anna Lee Mendiola has learned to manage her time, working in individual as well as group situations under strict deadlines, and recognizes the importance of a strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity. She is a valuable member of our school’s leadership team, and a role model for her colleagues.
Mrs. Anna Lee Mendiola has been very active as the Performing Arts chairperson for more than three consecutive years, helping students demonstrate their creative ability in dance, song, and performance.
Mrs. Mendiola has dedicated eleven years of service to the internal and external stakeholders of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands’ Public School System working diligently to “Shape Our Life, Our World, and Our Future.”
Trade and Maintenance of the Year
Sinapalo Elementary School’s Home of the Lu’ao campus and overall environment: from internal classrooms, restrooms, office space, teacher’s lounge, and library, to its external appearance of the hallways, playground, field, cafeteria, etc. gives the school great pride in how clean, neat, safe and orderly the school campus is kept.
Complements were reiterated by the visiting WASC accreditations leadership team member’s from last school years site-visit in April. Their first words of expression were on how beautiful and clean the school campus is and how teachers, administration, and staff members work collaboratively in maintaining such a dazzling learning environment that is beneficial to all students.
The school owes gratitude to an inspiring support staff member, Mrs. Riza Jingco, for her outstanding performance in demonstrating greatness and perfection in keeping Sinapalo Elementary School’s environment dynamic as she sets high ethical work standards through her great performance and dedication, desire, determination, time-management, perseverance and excellence. She strives to establish a respectful school atmosphere for all students and staff by providing a clean and inviting environment. She is very well organized, diligent in her work, easily reachable, and always on time.
In addition, Mrs. Jingco volunteer’s personal time and efforts extending to chaperoning and parental involvement activities, and has contributed in numerous school and community events as a volunteer/helper. Mrs. Jingco has exemplified high ethical standards that make her a very special person in providing input, support, and services beyond her job title.
She exemplifies great character in providing all parents, family members, and the community an environment that is inviting, respectful, supportive, inclusive and flexible for all.
The school is proud to present a heartfelt congratulations for all of her hard work and untiring support that benefits all children. She has become very instrumental in working with teachers in creative projects and showcases that reflect the Lu’ao Family’s spirit and inspiration throughout the seasonal gatherings and yearly events.
Mrs. Jingco is a motivational team player that has exemplified leadership qualities, personal talents, and job skills that make her an honorable asset to CNMI-Public School System. The Sinapalo Lu’ao family is proud to appoint her as our Trade and Maintenance of the Year.
Teacher Aide of the Year
Sinora Rebecca Cuevas has worked as a Chamorro Carolinian Language Heritage Studies teacher aide since May 2008. She has demonstrated her strengths in different areas to help her students achieve their goals. She has participated in extra curricular activities, field trips, and community events.
Sinora Cuevas is motivated to learn new techniques and strategies that will enhance student performance and knowledge. When she is not teaching, she prepares future lessons or extends her hand to others who need her assistance. Her creativity has opened doors for children to learn, accept, love, respect, and preserve the culture in various ways.
For the past three years, she has chaired and co-chaired in numerous clubs and activities. Her love for traditional music, dance, arts and craft has made her CCLHS class fun and exciting.
Furthermore, Sinora Cuevas has untiringly given her best in all that she does. She displays great leadership and respect to all. Her enthusiasm and cheerful attitude is greatly recognized by her students, colleagues, and the community.
Administrative Specialist of the Year
Sinapalo Elementary School would like to recognize and thank Mr. Demy Catubay for displaying such prestigious work ethics. He has worked hard for Sinapalo Elementary for over seven years and obtained many experiences that have helped him grow to become a better person that reflects qualities of a true leader.
As an administrative specialist, he goes beyond his duties and responsibilities. He has demonstrated excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, and respect for fellow colleagues.
Mr. Catubay has accomplished abundant awards such as earning his Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, and presently continuing his education to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology with emphasis in Networking and Telecommunication. He has been involved in many school extracurricular activities such as STUCO, Tween Talk, and presently the co-chair for the Accreditation Team.
He has received other training such as CPR certification, Defensive Driving, and is a Certified Emergency Response Team member. He is also the emergency coordinator for our school. He is dedicated to ensuring that our school is safe and orderly.
Furthermore, through the years of his employment here at Sinapalo Elementary School, he continues to proudly serve our teachers, staff, parents, community and most importantly our students.
