THE Commonwealth Utilities Corporation has been informed by Mobil Oil Mariana Islands Inc. of a decrease in the average international fuel oil prices, which may affect the Fuel Adjustment Charge.
As a result, the current FAC rate will decrease by $0.00698 per kWh, from $0.21119 per kWh to $0.20421 per kWh, effective May 1, 2025.
The FAC is one of two components that make up the CUC electric charge, and is strictly for fuel and fuel-related purchases. The second component is the CUC Base Rate, which has not increased since April 2014 and is used to fund personnel, operations, projects, debt services, and other non-fuel-related expenses.
