The executives of the students union from Tongmyong University will arrive on June 23, she said.
This group, she added, chose Saipan for their volunteer work.
“This is their first time to visit Saipan,” she said.
On June 27, Seman said the students will join with the mayor’s office in a repainting and beautification project.
The mayor’s office is now identifying areas for the cleanup program with the Korean students, she added.
She said the community service by foreign students will encourage local students and other community groups to help maintain the cleanliness of the island.
The mayor’s office is not sponsoring the Korean students but only coordinating their visit, Seman said.
