Lizama, 21, is being held on assault and battery, and disturbing the peace charges.
Lizama was brought before Govendo for his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday morning.
Lizama was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.
On June 5, 2011, about 1:34 a.m., Detective Catherine Pangelinan said police were dispatched to the residence of Ramon Lizama, located south of Shell station in Koblerville for disturbance.
Responding Patrol Officer Jesus Wabol saw Ramon Lizama kneeling on the ground beside his son Reginald who was on the ground and almost passed out after being choked by his brother Ronald, the defendant.
Reginald told police a male individual arrived at their house, looking for his other brother Jeffrey.
While he was checking Jeffrey in his room, Reginald said he heard Ronald, the defendant, arguing with the male visitor outside.
Reginald held Ronald to stop him from arguing with the visitor, but Ronald hit Reginald’s chin using the defendant’s right palm, police said.
While holding Reginald down to the ground, Ronald told the visitor to leave, police added.
Ramon Lizama, the father, came out, and told Ronald to let go of Reginald which the defendant did.
“Ronald then turns around and used his leg to lock [Reginald’s] neck and at the same time grabbed his head, and was pulling it backwards.
[Reginald] was waiving to his father to help him because he could not breathe anymore and he felt like he was going to pass out,” Pangelinan said.
