Tsunami, Saipan Swim Club swimmers reap awards

Saipan Swim Club’s Kento Akimaru finished the boys’ 10 and under 100m breast stroke event posting the best time of 1:33.64 followed by Tsunami Saipan’s Ryosei Toda with 1:35.27.

Meanwhile Toda’s teammates Kaito Yanai and Kaisei Toda topped the older boys’ 11-12 and 13-14 100m breaststroke with 1:23.41 and 1:26.78.

Ryosei Toda also took home first place in the longer boys’12 and under 200m breast stroke event at 3:17.90.

Lukas Kang sailed through the boys’ 9-10 individual medley as the top contender of the event in a pool of five rivals finishing at 3:13.65 followed by teammate Ryuto Yanai at 3:16.80 and Tsunami Guam’s Jimi Hendrix at 3:46.16.

Hiroto Yanai and Kaito yanai finished the medley race at 3:19.07 and 2:42.55 to top the boys’ 9-10 and 11-12 200m event.

After a silent streak during event #11 Ryuto Yanai started the clamor again in the boys’ eight and under 100m freestyle with 1:17.64 topping seven other competitors including teammate Lukas Kang, who placed third, and Saipan Swim Club’s Lennosuke Suzuki and Taiga Sato.

SSC’s Kento Akimaru followed through with Yanai’s clamor by garnering first place in the boys’ 9-10 100m freestyle event with 1:10.63 edging past Tsunami’s Hiroto Yanai who placed second with 1:16.27.

Tsunami Saipan won their first 200m medley relay in the boy’s 9-10 division.

The group was made up of Yuuki Nishida, Lukas Kang, Ryosei Toda, and Hiroto yanai clocking in at 2:51.26.

Tsunami Saipan then placed third in the older men’s 15 and over 200m relay timing in at 2:21.43. The group was made up of Kensuke Kimura, Marvin Lee, Kaisei Toda, and Thomas Lee.
