BLUE Haus is one win closer to a title shot in the masters division of the 2025 IT&E United Filipino Organization Basketball League after notching their first playoff win against the Eagles, 75-59, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Sunday.

Both teams opened the first half with intensity, showcasing skill and teamwork.

Leading the Eagles’ offense were Prinz Sarroca, Dennis Cortez, and Ryan Odicta, who consistently punished defenders in the paint with close-range finishes and second-chance buckets.

Blue Haus countered with the sharpshooting of Ron Gamboa and Elmer Esdrelon, who knocked down the team’s first three shots from beyond the arc. Brendon Talania and Melvin Capalad later joined the fray with a triple each, helping keep their team within reach at halftime, 40-36.

In the second half, Blue Haus’ Junar Guiab and Dexter Tenorio picked up where they left off with consistent finishes around the perimeter, while their teammates chipped in to help maintain the upper hand.

The Eagles fought back but struggled with consistency, as their missed shots gave Blue Haus scoring opportunities on the other end.

In the final minutes of the game, Blue Haus’ Ron Gamboa found his range once again, sinking back-to-back threes, while teammates JR Barrios and Dexter Tenorio each added a triple to extend the lead to double digits and seal the 75-59 win.

Joining the winner’s circle was K Pro, which trounced WinWin Way, 73-52.

This Saturday, Blue Haus will  face K Pro with the winner advancing to the semifinal round.
