NMPASI attorney Jeanne H. Rayphand told the U.S. District Court for the NMI that the matter has been settled.
Aside from Villagomez, NMPASI also sued Melissa Sablan, who is the Commonwealth Health Center Medical Records Office’s medical records technician, and 51 Does.
The lawsuit filed against Villagomez, Sablan, and their co-defendants were brought against them in their official capacities.
NMPASI earlier asked the federal court to order access to all records of its client from June 1, 2010 up to present.
On Dec. 14, 2001, then-Chief Judge Alex R. Munson enjoined Villagomez in his official capacity as Public Health secretary, and Joaquin Taitano, in his official capacity as deputy secretary for hospital administration, “from denying [NMPASI] full, prompt, and meaningful access to records of all persons with disabilities, including but not limited to, mental illness and developmental disabilities.”
