During its June 21 special session, the delegation appropriated $9,000 from local license fees collected from poker and pachinko slot machines on Rota.
According to House Local Bill 17-45, offered by Rep. Teresita A. Santos, Ind.-Rota and the delegation vice chairwoman, seven dialysis and terminally ill patients will get $450 each as allowance for June and part of July.
Those patients are staying at hotels or apartments instead of at the Rota Liaison Guest House on Navy Hill.
Seven other dialysis and terminally ill patients will get $300 each in allowance for June and part of July 2010.
Sen. Juan M. Ayuyu, Ind.-Rota and the delegation chairman, said the allocation for the dialysis and terminally ill patients amounts to $8,000.
The Rota Municipal Scholarship Foundation as mandated by Rota Local Law 17-2 will get $1,000.
The bill is now on Gov. Benigno R. Fitial’s desk.
