THE Saipan Beacon Lions Club marked Older Americans Month by celebrating the island’s senior citizens with complimentary beauty services, Zumba, lunch, and more at the Manamko’ Center in Garapan on Wednesday, May 14.
Racquel Huit-Floyd, the club president, said the event marked the third consecutive year they hosted a “post-Mother’s Day” celebration for the island’s elderly.
She said hair styling and eyebrow threading services were provided by Ambience Salon and Rejuvenate Salon with Georgia Datdat, Jovelyn Dejano, Shine Gelles, and Joan Oliverio donating their beauty services. Floyd also shared that 56 senior citizens registered for the beauty services.
A Zumba session was conducted by Xtreme Fitness670, and the Saipan Beacon Lions provided 100 lunches to senior citizens.
The Saipan Beacon Lions also donated a special prize package to the oldest client of the Office on Aging, Ana Naperi. The 93-year-old received a Bluetooth speaker, among other items, and $93.
