Wild Bill’s, KFT, Mellow win in futsal league opener

In the first match of the afternoon, the Korean Futsal Team defeated team Docomo, 8-7, with Jong Jin Jeon scoring three goals in the second half.

The KFT took an early 4-1 lead in the first half as Cho Jin Koo posted two goals. Dae Won Jeon, Sang Ho, and Si Young Heo each tallied one point.

Teen athlete Dae Min Jeon added another goal to secure the game.

In the 7:30 p.m. game, visiting soccer player Katie Peters led Mellow Yellow’s winning rally and edged IT&E MP United A, 4-2.

Peters, a former Women’s National Team member, hammered two goals in the first half and scored one in the second along with Rose L.

Connie C. notched all of MP United’s points and ran out of time before scoring a possible third goal.

In the final game of the night, team Wild Bill’s resisted a late game push from the Red-Inter-Godfather’s and came out on top, 7-6.

Wild Bills’ Jeeraphong Thoensaket pulled away with three goals, while Adul Detdong and Jiayuan Guo scored one apiece to lead, 5-1 in the first half.

Thoensaket and Guo added one point each to counter an aggressive offensive from Inter’s Arkie Reusora.

A women’s division match between teams Thai and Kulets was rescheduled at a later date.

The futsal league will feature eight men and women’s teams throughout the season. Games will continue every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
