Last weekend, over 120 packets of the locally made bottles of Asiga and Tinian hot pepper from Susan’s Creations were distributed to guests from Korea, Japan and China that participated in the second baccarat tournament at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino.
Tinian Casino promotions and marketing manager Chell Funtanar said in the past, they usually gave out t-shirts or ashtrays with the Tinian Dynasty casino print for souvenirs to the players.
“For a change, we wanted to give out something different and we thought of giving away products that are made here. This way, our players will be bringing home a taste of the islands,” Funtanar said.
Tinian Dynasty attracts hundreds of players from different parts of the world for the various tournaments they hold throughout the year.
The souvenir packets wrapped in locally made bags contained bottles of Asiga, the Chamorro word for salt, in cherry, mango, lemon and tamarind flavors, and bottles of the popular small red hot pepper powder.
The giveaways were packed specially for the tournament players by Susan’s Creations owner Susan Cruz who has been producing local products since 1992. Susan’s Creations also recently launched five scents of the CNMI’s first locally made perfumes, bad been going all out filling orders for souvenir items and giveaways for different events here, Guam and in the mainland.
“Through our local products, we want to put Tinian and the CNMI on the world map,” Cruz said.
