Let “A1” represent a player from a team. A1 just scored two-points from a jump shot. Before the goal ends however, an unsportsmanlike foul is committed on an off-the-ball situation by opposing player “B4” to A3.
A3 is given two free throw shots plus ball possession. On a “throw in,” A3 passes off to A1 at the three-point area and A1 scores a three-pointer. He however, is fouled by B4, giving him one free throw attempt.
Players B2 and A4 enter the restricted area before he releases the ball and a jump-ball is called. Team A keeps possession.
Overall: A1’s jump shot and three-pointer plus A3’s two free throws accumulate to seven points. If A1 tries another three-pointer and is fouled for a free throw, team A earns four more points.
Team A earns 11 points and wins the game.
