A six-run fourth inning and Asap Wabol’s double gave the team a good jumpstart, but it was Kevin Kapileo’s sacrifice fly that drove the last nail in the Fielders’ coffin.
The Fielders took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on Anthony Tenorio’s RBI double.
Left fielder Darren Pua fired back with a two-run single three innings later, along with Wabol’s two-run double. Vince Cepeda and Kapileo struck out 10, walked three, and allowed eight hits in 11 innings. Pua bagged his third RBI in the top of the seventh after sending Manny Sablan home.
Behind 7-5, the Fielders barely survived the bottom of the eighth. A quick run from Ionis Rasa and Wens Namelo’s run-scoring single saved the team – for the time being.
The Brewers went three scoreless innings before landing their winning run from Tony Rogolifoi in the bottom of the 11th.
They are now one win away from the championship and are scheduled to play the Fielders tonight.
Last Monday, the St. Michaels Angels drew an instant win via forfeit against the D-9ers.
