Its general manager Hae Sook Shin Na provided Variety with copies of her business permits saying their scooter shop should not have been shut down by the Tinian Department of Finance.
Na also said they have permits for 2007, 2008 and 2009, contrary to the claim of Tinian revenue officer Martin Sakisat.
She said Tinian Finance should have the copies, adding that Sakisat could have conducted an investigation without shutting down her business.
Na said Sakisat and Tinian’s acting Finance Director Ed Shai did not even bother to tell them why their business was being investigated.
She said the notice they received from Sakisat did not look official because it was on a piece of ordinary paper and not on the department’s official letterhead.
Sakisat may have abused his authority when he shut their business down without due process, Na said.
That is the reason why they complained to Tinian Mayor Ramon M. Dela Cruz, she added.
Sakisat said they shut down the shop because copies of its licenses could not be found.
He said he has nothing personal against Keosong. All he has been doing is enforcing the law, he added.
