Hotshots blast through Hanwa, 87-78

Even with Hanwa regrouping and changing strategy, Peredo still found a way to reach the basket. The Hotshots grabbed a four point lead in the first quarter but struggled on Jaime Wabinga and Banjo Basila’s hard hitting offense.

Gamboa’s energetic layups and a series of open two-pointers for Peredo crushed Hanwa in the defense. Guiab, who took care of most defensive rebounds, went scoreless in the second quarter but posted six in the second half for a 15 total. Barrios tallied 24 points.

Team Hanwa had it in the bag with a 60-64 lead in the third quarter, but lost momentum on constant misses.

The Hotshots refused to back off and stole twice from Dennis Vinas, who only settled for nine points. Gamboa scored 28 points and Peredo earned 20. Dexter Mendiola came in and intercepted a pass in the last four minutes but missed his shot, returning possession to Hanwa.

Team Hanwa defeated Cellular Pro last Friday and now stand at five wins and two losses. The Hotshots have three wins and three losses.
