Detective Roque Camacho arrested George Masga based on an arrest warrant that Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo issued.
Masga was booked and charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to trafficking of a controlled substance and trafficking of a controlled substance within the 1,000 feet school zone.
His bail was set at $60,000 cash.
Camacho said Masga sold a $50 ice to a cooperating source, or CS, on April 4 in Chalan Kanoa.
Their target was actually a Filipino national who goes by the name of Eric Murana, also known as Eric Tagalu, according to Roque’s sworn statement to the court.
The CS contacted Murana on the phone which was tapped.
The CS agreed to meet with Murana but instead it was Masga who handed down the ice.
The ice that Masga gave to the CS tested positive for methamphetamine during the field test.
Camacho said the CS made another call to Murana and asked why Masga delivered the ice.
“At the pre-arranged area, a call was placed back to Eric’s phone by the CS asking Eric as to why Masga was the one who came out to meet with the CS. Eric told CS not to worry because he did not cut it and that he was the one who gave Masga the ice to give to the CS,” the detective said.
It was not determined yesterday whether Murana had been arrested already.
