Vicente B. Camacho, 43, made a plea bargain agreement with the CNMI government to reduce his possible sentence of over five years on the charge of trafficking a controlled substance.
The government agreed to dismiss the trafficking charge in exchange for his plea.
Superior Court Associate Judge Perry B. Inos ordered Camacho to submit himself to random drug testing at the Office of Adult Probation.
Camacho was also fined $200 and a court assessment fee of $25.
He will perform 20 hours of community work service.
Camacho was arrested on Jan. 21 after police received a tip that he and another person were unloading marijuana plants from a Toyota Camry.
Responding police officers noticed a marijuana plant in a flower pot located about five feet behind the defendant’s house and followed him at the back and found more marijuana plants.
Camacho admitted to the officers that he smoked and sold marijuana.
At least 38 marijuana plants, weighing 640 grams, were uprooted at his residence.
