Brewers fall to Angels, 7-1

The Angels pulled away, beating their foes 7-1 to end this season’s first round at the Francisco ‘Tan Ko’ Palacios Baseball Field. Jesus Iguel went 2-for-5 and led the team with four runs, two singles, and a stolen base.

Iguel scored his first run at the top of the first, connected his second in the second inning, and made his third at the top of the fourth thanks to Jerome Delos Santos’ triple.

Delos Santos posted two RBI singles, sending Mike Iguel and Maru Kaipat home.

Toi Celis – who switched from third baseman to short stop – found an opening at the bottom of the sixth and scored the Brewers’ first run of the night.

Delos Santos bagged the Angels’ last run on an error. Pitcher Franco Flores posted seven Ks, allowing one hit and walking five.

The SML’s second round will begin tonight between the Shell Fielders and Masters.
