The committee was established in mid-2009 and has served as the central organization for military communications between the CNMI government and federal agencies involved in the military buildup on Guam and the Northern Marianas.
The committee is composed of the governor, lt. governor, Senate president, speaker of the House and the CNMI mayors.
“The [committee’s] efforts through the leadership of the Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and technical guidance from the Office of Economic Adjustment has been very productive with respect to ensuring the CNMI maximizes military buildup opportunities,” stated Thomas J. Linden, the committee coordinator.
