The 2.4k swim will give participants the chance to escape from Managaha to Saipan. Swimmers are reminded that all swimmers must make it through the channel by 9 am.
All swimmers who do not make it to the channel in time will be picked up by a kayak and will not be allowed back in the water to complete the swim.
Wet suits and buoys are allowed in tomorrow’s competition.
Although there were 30 swimmers last year young guns and veteran swimmers will grace this year’s Escape to Managaha swim meet.
“I would like to thank Don Dunlop of Sunrider for providing the transportation out to Managaha, Alison Lubin of Expressions for collecting applications for us, DPS—Boating Safety for providing assistance during the swim and our support kayakers who we couldn’t do the swim without,” said meet coordinator Lisa Kimball.
Registered participants are asked to be at Smiley Cove by 5:30AM for the boat ride to Managaha while friends and family members can await their swimmers at the finish line at Micro Beach.
