Paire advances to women’s finals; MP United vs. Shirley’s in semis

The top ranked Paire FC dominated Tan Holdings Football Club, 6-0 with goals from Zoe Jewell, Megan Herber, and Connie Camacho at the Commonwealth Ports Authority Field.

Team Paire took a 2-0 lead in the first half and bagged four more goals on an unending offensive.

“THFC showed a great deal of improvement this season,” said Herber in an email to Marianas Variety. “Paire always has a good time playing THFC because of the enthusiasm of the players and their great sportsmanship.”

Paire Football Club ended strong with a late-game rally from Angie Mister and Amber Roberts.

THFC’s Farah Chan stole the ball from Temary Gramlich and passed off to Lyvette Lacsina, but their failed goal attempt turned the tides to PFC.

Meanwhile, Andrea Engelhardt and Jenn Backhaus squeezed in MP United’s only goals in the 50th and 62nd minutes to edge Independent Football Club, 2-0 on Saturday.

Shirley’s FC eliminated Matansa Football Club, 5-0 on goals from Lalaine Pagarao (39th min.), Jeraldine Castillo (47th and 59th min.), Marie Javier (63rd min.), and Jeralyn Castillo (65th min.).

Tomorrow’s winner between Shirley’s FC and MP United will play Paire FC for the championship on Saturday. Matansa and Independent FC will play a consolation game at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
