Letter to the Editor: Can’t afford it

A well-known constitutional law professor noted  that most of our U.S. lawmakers, like our president and governors, didn’t even have the guts to stand up for justice  when a lot of our people had already lost their 401K’s, life savings, their homes, their cars. Now some of these folks who lost everything are living on the street because their elected officials refused to enforce our laws to protect them all.

Others say stop blaming our leaders and  stop pointing fingers while others are just tired of arguing. But ignoring justice is one thing I will never do and exposing the truth is what I will always do.

For our leaders to look the other way while a lot of people are suffering and living on the street is a crime against humanity.

A lawmaker is supposed to make laws and yet no action has been taken by our lawmakers to protect our suffering people. We give them the power and they give us the you’re-on-your-own attitude.

So if we duct-tape our mouths and say nothing — who will stand up to these lawmakers?

I am a concerned citizen, I am a student, I am a brother and I am a civics writer who care about writing and telling it like it is and exposing the truth about our broken system that needs to be fixed as soon as possible, now or never.

When leaders are in charge they are supposed to help our people, right? They say they are trying their best but why are things getting worse?

Do you all think smiling to the people will do the trick?

And why can’t our lawmakers cooperate and work side by side with the administration and do what’s best for our people? How hard can it be to do your job?

It’s very important for the next generation of local people to take control of our Legislature and alleviate the hardship our people are facing today.

Those who are in office for years now have done nada but cause headaches, heartaches and disappointment among our people.

It’s time to pull up your pants and get ready to be voted out of office next election year because we cannot afford corruption anymore.
