Nena S. Langu, 42, was charged with sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree.
Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal is prosecuting the case.
Langu, who remains in jail pending his bail, was also charged with one count each of criminal mischief and disturbing the peace for breaking the window at the rented apartment of the victim and her mother.
The victim who is now 18 years old told the Kagman High School counselor about her ordeal.
The school reported the case to the police on March 30.
The victim told authorities she was first sexually molested by Langu when she was in the third grade.
She said she was asleep in their house when Langu began touching her inappropriately.
The victim said Langu sexually molested her throughout the years.
She said Langu would even touch her in the presence of her mother and brother who were sleeping with her in the same bed.
Court records showed that Langu was involved in other criminal offenses.
In 1999, he was charged with assault and battery thrice. All cases have been disposed.
Langu was again charged with assault in 2000 and in the following year he was charged with a criminal felony.
Further, court records showed that the victim’s mother sought protection against Langu twice under the Family Protection Act.
