Bridge Capital account executive Rowena C. Relado yesterday said over 50 entries were turned in for the contest.
“The submissions came in different categories — drawings, wood carvings, photographs, oil and crayon paintings, and more,” Relado said.
She said most of the artists waited until the deadline before submitting their works.
Jason Schroeder, Bridge Capital international director or website development, in a statement yesterday said a display of all winning works will follow after the awarding ceremony.
Winners in the open category, or those who are 18 years and older will receive $2,500 for the grand prize, $1,500 for the first prize, $1,000 for the second prize and $500 for the third prize. Winners from the student category from kindergarten to grade 12 will receive $100 each, and $100 store credit at National Office Supply for the teacher of the winning students.
Bridge Capital LLC launched the annual art competition last year to promote and support art education and local artists.
The community is invited to join the awarding ceremony and view all the submitted entries after the event. For more information, call Bridge Capital LLC at 322-2222.
