Joeten-Kiyu library open today, closed on Good Friday

Library executive director John O. Gonzales said they decided to make up for the time that they will be closed in observance of Good Friday.

“As much as possible, we do not want to cut off our hours of service to our patrons. We want to continue serving them with our services and library materials,” Gonzales said.

Due to the government’s austerity measures, the  library has been closed on Tuesdays, but today is an exception.

Gonzales will be flying to Rota today with Dr. Cecilia Lizama-Salvatore who arrived on island last week for a series of group assessment meetings on the three main islands for the 2010 CNMI Cares Project to preserve the islands’ cultural heritage collections.

Tomorrow and on Thursday, Lizama-Salvatore will be at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library.
